GroundFloor Media Awarded “Best Boutique Agency to Work For”
in the United States
The Holmes Report recognizes low attrition rate, company culture and employee
volunteer program
DENVER (May 27, 2008) — GroundFloor Media Inc., a
Denver-based public relations agency, was named as the 2007 Best Boutique
Agency to Work For by The Holmes Report, an influential public relations industry
newsletter, at the Sabre Awards ceremony in New York City on May 13.
The Holmes Report Best Public Relations Agencies to Work For survey was conducted
online by participating agencies whose employees were invited to provide their
responses to questions covering various aspects of their agency's culture,
including trust and loyalty in management, compensation, client service and
opportunity for growth. More than 5,000 employees from more than 80 of the
leading public relations firms in the United States participated in the survey.
“Since opening our doors, we have seen a direct correlation between
our client relationships and our ability to attract and retain the best team
members,” said Laura Love, president and founder of GroundFloor Media.
“We have, and always will, operate a company that values its professionals
and clients, yet at the same time places a strong importance on work-life
blending.”
GroundFloor Media was recognized for its low attrition rate hovering around
six percent and for its culture, exemplified by practices including hiring
only senior-level PR professionals, maintaining a flexible mix of full-time
employees and consultants and encouraging a strong blend between work and
family life. GroundFloor Media offers professional growth opportunities in
the form of peer learning, paid tuition to relevant professional development
opportunities and opportunities to learn from outside speakers, so its employees
can continue to build their knowledge and expertise in the public relations
industry.
According to Collin Conaway, senior public relations manager, “GroundFloor
Media has a wonderful culture that is not only exemplified by its high caliber
of employees, but also by our strong work-life blending practices.”
GroundFloor Media provides the tools and technology so its team members can
work out of their home offices whether they live in Denver, Houston or Washington,
D.C. The majority of the company’s after-hours events and community
service projects include employee’s families. Team building efforts
have included a group trip to run a half marathon in Phoenix, building a house
together through Habitat for Humanity, adopting a girls’ home in Sikkim,
India and complementary yoga classes in the office every Wednesday.
GroundFloor Media also received a 2007 Sabre Award for its employee program,
Get Grounded®. Through this program, team members are given the opportunity
to participate in social causes that are important to them. In its inaugural
year (2007), 24 percent of GroundFloor Media’s employees participated
in the program, volunteering 400 hours at nonprofit organizations throughout
the community.
