Kristina Reilly | Director of Business Operations

Biography | The Real Story

With more than 14 years of experience in the public relations industry, Kristina Reilly is the glue that keeps GroundFloor Media (GFM) together. As a member of the management team, she specializes in blending agency operations with GFM’s public relations efforts. The blending of practices allows the agency’s seasoned communications pros to focus on the business at hand—garnering results for their clients, while providing strong account management and client service. From overseeing accounting practices and the IT department to supporting the agency’s marketing initiatives and new business efforts, she plays a strategic role in the agency's daily operations and future direction. Since joining GFM in 2005, Kristina has helped the agency transition from a small shop in Boulder to one of the region’s top communications firms.

Prior to joining GFM, Kristina worked for Metzger Associates where she oversaw operations. Her leadership and management skills produced a strong record of exceeding the company's management expectations. Kristina also created and grew the agency account services department by providing the agency's account staff with top-notch administrative support, allowing them to focus on client service.

Kristina began her career in public relations at Cunningham Communication in Cambridge, Mass. During her tenure at Cunningham, she grew her position to oversee the research resources for all three of Cunningham's offices.

In 2010, Kristina graduated from the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Impact Denver program and currently serves as the steering committee chair for the class’ yearlong community service project.

Kristina is very passionate about the needs of children and families and is very active with several organizations that champion those causes including the Teller Elementary PTA, Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation Denver, Cooking Matters Chefs Up Front and the Denver Rescue Mission. In 2011, Kristina was named to the board of advisors for Cooking Matters Colorado and sits on both the communications and culinary events committees.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Kristina ventured to the Midwest to earn a bachelor’s degree in history from Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio. After a short retreat back east, Kristina moved to Colorado in 1998. She, her husband and two children live in an old Four Square in one of Denver’s historic neighborhoods. When not tending to her family and two dogs, Kristina is enjoys taking spin classes, cooking and spending time outdoors with her family.

Biography | The Real Story

Even as a child, Kristina was always looking for the most efficient means of getting the job done. She often asked her mom questions like, “Are cemeteries laid out in alphabetical order?” (Admit it–it’s a good idea!) But growing up in Barrington, Rhode Island didn’t offer a whole lot for a young planner, besides getting in trouble. So when Mommy’s little angel backed the family car into the garage door, she was convinced her mother would literally kill her. After all, she was only 13. She did live to see 14 and proceeded to take a job at a neighborhood pub. (We know – it’s so wrong!) So it only stands to reason that she would collect – what else – wine corks! We're guessing she earns ’em.

Regardless, it was this “behind the scenes” insight that trained her mind to work the way it does, Kristina has the ability to anticipate the needs of others, making her the MVP of GroundFloor Media. But even with all this organizational ability, she doesn't really take herself too seriously. In Kristina’s words, “Heck – life’s too short!”

An avid skier and hiker, the Colorado lifestyle suits her. This worked out great when she decided to marry another East Coast transplant.

An avid supporter of the needs of children and families, she continues to assist organizations that help fight childhood hunger and homelessness in her community. And while reliability and fun don’t always go hand-in-hand, when it comes to Kristina that is definitely the case. She loves wine and good food (except tomatoes and mushrooms), hates rude people, brags about owning a Dyson Vacuum and thinks that without family and friends, the world would be a very lonely place.

While living in Boston, our Rabid Red Sox fan’s claim to fame was sharing a cocktail or two with Gavin Rossdale from the band Bush. She still has the autographed bar napkin in her jewelry box to prove it. But don't worry, Gwen Stefani, she has her hubby, so your role is safe –for now.

Kristina longs to spend days on the beaches of Rhode Island with her husband and two children, as well as their two dogs and a crazy cat by her side. They live in a Denver Square house, built in 1906, where her bathroom is so small that she can literally wash her hands and brush her teeth from the toilet.
